Classic Instruction
Published in Hardcover by Broadway Books (01 June, 2000)
Authors: Bobby Jones, Ben Crenshaw, Martin Davis, and Robert Tyre Jones
Average review score:

Great Book!
This is truly Classic Instruction. Not only does it give great basic fundamental instruction from "The Greatest" Bobby Jones but Ben Crenshaw shows the more modern swing as well.

Great photos of Bobby Jones and his techniques.

It's also a must have for Jones' unique lost writings finally in print for the world to see. Great for a golf book collection.

Elegant Book of An Elegant Golf Swing
Crenshaw is not only a successful pro but also he is a passionate student of golf's history. So he is the perfect one to compile this side-by-side analysis of Jones' swing.

Martin Davis who edits this book found a box of over 100 photos of Jones' swing. Along with these were handwritten notes explaining the photos.

So, on one page is the B&W of Jones, then parallel is the four-color swing of Crenshaw and his discussion of Jones' notes.

It is masterful, elegant and a true keepsake to any serious golf historian's collection. A must!

Excellent golf instruction and gift book
This is a very fine (and unusual) book on golf instruction. Using original photos and text from the old master Bob Jones, modern master Ben Crenshaw compares his swing and golf philosophy to Jones' swing and golf philosophy. This is also a very fine gift book--handsome and not too expensive. I recommend it highly to golf enthusiasts and neophytes alike.

Edin's Embrace (A Zebra Romance)
Published in Paperback by Kensington Pub Corp (Mass Market) (December, 1989)
Author: Nadine Crenshaw
Average review score:

The best Viking romance.
I never read another Viking romance half as good as this & like another reviewer I've read this more than once. Read the first review for story details.

A very HOT Viking story!!
Edin's Embrace by Nadine Crenshaw is a very sensual Viking story. Thoryn Kirkynson is a Viking jarl who has travelled from afar to raid and pillage. He invades a manor home called Fair Hope on the morning of a wedding between Edin and her childhood sweetheart. Edin is a renowed beauty and hears the horrible noises as the Norse invaders forcefully enter her home. She is desperate to hide, to save herself but knows there is no place she can run to for safety. She knows the Vikings will find her. Thoryn enters her bedroom and sees her standing there. Her beauty holds him spellbound. Edin is terrified of Thoryn yet is strangely fascinated by his powerful, fierce presence. He takes her captive bringing her back to Norway to sell her on the slave markets. Yet, Edin's beauty and gentleness soon win over Thoryn's ice encased heart. She effortlessly arouses within him a fierce desire. A desire he cannot resist even with his iron will. Consumned with lust, he claims her for his own. Not brutally as she had feared but with gentle patience. Edin's fear soon becomes replaced with forbidden desire for this Viking who has seized her. Yet danger awaits the lovers. An unknown enemy is awaiting the precise moment in which to strike. An enemy whose cunning and murderous intent is well concealed from all. Edin's Embrace is a thoroughly enjoyable, very HOT lovestory. Thoryn is your typical Viking. He is powerful, ruthless and so ready to kill. Yet he loses that fierceness and becomes a slave to the one woman he had vowed to resist. He willingly loses himself in Edin's Embrace.

This is one of my favorite Viking story's.
I still love to read this one over and over. The characters still come alive everytime I read it.

End of the Rainbow
Published in Hardcover by MacMillan Publishing Company (March, 1981)
Author: Mary Ann Crenshaw
Average review score:

Slightly Prejudiced
Since Mary Ann is my sister, I may be at least _SLIGHTLY_ prejudiced. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and feel that it's by far her best. Her other books give you information, and lots of it, but you don't get to see much of the person giving it. In "Rainbow," Mary Ann has the considerable courage to let you see inside her world, with all the ugly as well as beautiful things that are inside all of our lives. It took great courage to write this book. Nice going, Sis.

Engrossing
I would like to e-mail the author - I read the book in 1981 and have started a PA (pills anonymous) meeting in the Chicago area. I would like her to know how she was a positive influence in my life. I would also like to thank her for her honesty and gripping tale.

An open and honest look at alcohol and drug addiction
For anyone who has been an alcholic or drug addict or those who are friends and relatives of people with this disease, this book is a wonderful source of wisdom from a recovering addict.

The book is divided into two parts:

The first part discusses Mary Ann's disease and how innocently it began, masking pain with pills and then masking the side effects of the pills with even more pills. As the reader, you keep wondering why she doesn't just stop taking them. In the second part you learn about how the disease of alcohol and drug addiction eliminates any rational thinking skills she or any other addict may have had before taking drugs and how friends and well-meaning people can actually enable the disease.

As the friend and relative of addicts, I found the book soothing and a valuable instrument I could share with recovering addicts and those that haven't yet admitted they have a problem. It's a delightful story of one woman's courage not only to fight her disease but also to share her pearls of wisdom with others heading down the same path.

A must read for parents, clergy, teenagers, atheletes, and those who deal with a lot of stress daily.

Thanks Mary Ann!

Evangelist of Golf: The Story of Charles Blair MacDonald
Published in Hardcover by Sleeping Bear Press (November, 2002)
Authors: George Bahto, Tom Doak, and Ben Crenshaw
Average review score:

Evangelist of Golf
A wonderful work by Mr. Bahto. A must read for any serious golf architecture student. The photos and drawings are amazing. The chapter on National is worth the price of the book alone. Great read.

what term describes "beyond must read"
The "Evangalist" should be sufficient to re-direct the path of contemporary golf course design from its current preoccupation with window dressing and waterfalls to the structural soundness and strategic integrity inherent in Macdonald/Raynor's work. Devotees of this book will require hospitalization the next time they hear the hot architect of the day say that he doesn't want to adapt old principles when there are "so many new strategies yet to be developed".

the evangelist
great read and terrific reference! a must for any serious student of architecture.

Wonderful
This was a wonderful story. It's very hard to put down. It only took me 2 nights to complete it. I hope Curt Simmons writes more books soon!

Loved this novel!!
This one is hard to put down! I loved each of the colorful characters and couldn't wait to read what was going to happen next. The surprise ending was the perfect conclusion to this heartwarming story.

Wonderful story
This is a wonderful story. I fell in love with the characters and hated to see the book end. But the surprise ending left me crying and smiling at the same time. Loved it!

Viking Gold

Truly A Work Of Art
This was one of the best books I've ever read. The plot and the story line are amazing and the love story is trully touching. From the second I picked up this book I couldn't put it down and I found my self laying awake at night thinking about the characters and what will happen to them. The plot is truly a work of art, full of suspence and mystery, important hystorical facts as well as romance, girl power, love and life. This book has it all!!! It takes you to a time of pure magic but hardship and introduces you to genuine characters that you whish you could be or meet. One of the BEST. WOW. READ THIS BOOK!!!!

Viking Gold- What a love story
The book Viking Gold by Nadine Crenshaw is my favorite book. It has everything needed to get 5 stars. It has romance, a little bit of action, a good plot, and GIRL POWER! The book shows how a woman can be so respected even if there isn't a powerful man behind her. Aasa (the main character) is a strong, intelligant woman who is able to gain respect from those who did not respect her at first. The love story in this book is amazing. It makes you want to be that character; boy or girl. The love story is not like every other love story that you read and see. It has a twist to it. Viking Gold is an exciting book that definitely deserves 5 stars.

MAGICAL, MYSTICAL...A CLASSIC
This book got me hooked on viking romances. Since reading this I've tried to find each and every one I could get my hands on. Unfortunately, they pale in comparison. I've since read some of the books Nadine Crenshaw wrote prior to this. I think she honed her skills up to this point and reached her pinnacle with this book. It is by far the best viking romance I've read and probably ever will read (possibly the best romance--period). Sorry to sound sappy but there was something special about this book that touched me. It is a keeper.

Dispensationalism Today, Yesterday, and Tomorrow
Published in Paperback by Footstool Pubns (December, 1994)
Authors: Curtis Crenshaw, Curtis I. Crensham, Daniel R. Morse, and Grover E. Gunn
Average review score:

Poinant and practical - for the layman and theologian alike
As a layman who has made the long journey away from Dispensational theology and read many books on the subject, I found this book to be one of the best on the subject. Crenshaw and Gunn have done a remarkable job in identifying and tackling foundational issues rather than focusing on the ancilary, and they do so in a way that is practical and understandable for the layman and yet challenging enough for those more studied. It is poinant in its exposure of the weaknesses of the Dispensational system (weaknesses seldom known to the lay Dispensationalist) but is balanced with compassion. Dispensationalists who read this book can't help but walk away with some difficult questions concerning key points of their theology. It is well worth the effort to find this out-of-print book. My only regret is that I didn't read it years ago. 10/29/01

Single best overall discussion & critic of Dispensationalism
Crenshaw and Gunn have delivered what is an essential resource for anyone thinking through the issue of Dispensational theology in modern Evangelicalism. This book is a response to criticism against the Reformed understanding of Scripture and of eschatology (the study of the last things). Not only is the is extensive overview of the Dispensational model of hermeneutics (interpretation), but it is also one of the most compassionate responses to the critics of Reformed theology's interpretation of certain passages in the Bible

An excellent complement to the computer game
Though this book was based on the RPG computer game by KOEI, it provides for excellent reading to anyone interested in celtic mythology. Excellent communication guide for everyone!
When I first met my fiance we had significant communication problems. We constantly had arguments because I couldn't effectively communicate what I needed without putting him on the defense. I can now get my point across quickly and we haven't had an argument in over a year and a half because of my new skills. We are planning our wedding and are very happy! I also use the techniques I learned from this book in all of my relationships. It has even helped with talking to my mother. I wish I had learned these skills years ago!

Natural Way to Super Beauty

The Self Help Book That Really Helps
I had Ms. Crenshaw's book back in the 70s. I loved her personal experience presentation and learned a lot from her book, as well. I have used many, many of the things she tried and recommended. There was also a picture on her book of her. She is a charming, you-and-me kind of lady. She was very attractive and you could see some of the effects of what she was doing working very well for her. They worked very well for me, too. I lent the book out and never got it back. I have thought about it from time to time all these years and would love to have it again. It contains priceless information we really need to know. For example, the reason I am at this site now is in my search through all sorts of medical sites I cannot find the correct proportion of B vitamins to one another. Then I remembered it was in her book and here I am. THis book is part of the "roots" of those of us who read it. It is timeless, and as useful today as it was thirty years ago. I heartily recommend this book. In addition, most of the issues she addressed and procedures she recommended for different things utilize items that are not expensive or name brand anything. Vinegar, water, vitamins, etc. I could go on and on about this terrific book, but I think you would enjoy it more yourself. Have fun!

The Natural Way To Super Beauty
I had this book back in the mid to late 70's when it was new. I found all sorts of helpful information that I still use, and recomment to others. When we went to Mexico City on vacation, somehow, the book was lost. Finally was able to fine a copy in our local library, and copied the formula for the "Hair Cocktail," which is wonderful for growing new hair for those of us who may have thinning hair, The information on skin care is great. I'm sure that a bit of updating would be benificial now, but I highly recommend the book to everyone.

Good Book
I've had this book for almost 20 years, and I learned alot from it. I still refer back to it now and then. The natural health industry was way ahead of the medical community. Doctors used to scoff at things that they now recommend. Lots of valuable tips in here.
